Save Money While Building A Pond
You have probably realized that ponds are not exactly cheap to build. However, there are some ways to cut down on the costs and still have a pond that looks great.
How to Build a Pond and Save Money:
1.Find the right location in your backyard. Avoid areas under trees where leaves will fall into the pond. Another great idea is to place your cheap pond in an area where you can see it from the windows inside, or from your deck or patio.
2.Purchase a small kiddy pool that is the size of the pond you want. You can get these for less than 10 dollars, and it's a great cheat for how to build a pool easily. You can find these kiddie pools in a variety of great shapes that will make your pond look great. Some of them are fish, stars, or seashells.
3.Put the pool on the ground where you want your pond to go. Then mark around the area. Use the markings as a guide as you dig the hole for your pond. Then you simply place the kiddy pool inside. Make sure the hole is just deep enough to leave the kiddy pool lip about 1-2 inches above the ground.
4.Now get out your spray paint and paint the whole pool black and let it sit overnight to dry.
5.Add in a pump and filter to keep things flowing so the water does not go stagnant. Although it is not 100% necessary, your fish will be much happier.
6.The next step in learning how to build a pond is to add a few heavy rocks around the edges of the pool. Then you can add gravel if you're planning on putting plants in the pond.
7.Now all you need to do is fill the pond up with water. You are done! You have just built a beautiful pond that was easy on the wallet. It's not hard to build a pond that's cheap and beautiful. You can place some flat rocks around the side of the pond, and plant some great flowers around it for a stunning effect.
